Another Fun Weekend

I was so excited on Thursday to get to have lunch with one of my all time favorite students - Ana Zavala. She was one of the first students in my AVID program at McKinney(8th grade). She is now a sophomore in college. I am so proud of her!! We met in Allen at the Cheesecake Factory and she got a chance to meet Sam. We are going to try to steal her away from her current job when Bounce U opens. She would make the best Desk manager for us!!

Saturday, my neighbor had a shrimp boil. Everyone brought 1lb of shrimp/person and then she had some snacks and they cooked them all with potatoes and corn. It was yummy. Thanks Peggy for including us!! That evening we went over to Tonya's to celebrate some very special b-days. Elizabeth and Tamara were turning 40 this year and Tonya turned 35. They chose the date in the middle of all their b-days and had a big party. It was so much fun. They had a casino party. We all got $1000 (or more if your were nice to the dealers) to play a variety of games. It was a great time. The food was yummy and the company was good. Mom and dad came over to watch Sam, so we could enjoy the evening. They spent the night and went to church with us today.

We are supposed to be going to New Orleans on Thursday, but those plans may be a changing. Looks like Ike is causing a few problems and may be headed that way. We will know better Tuesday if we are going to be able to make the trip. I told Todd that I had never experienced a hurricane before:) He said he would put me on the plane and stay here with Sam. His parents have decided not to evacuate with this one. They are going to "hunker" down and ride it out. Fortunately, they did not have a lot of damage with Gustav, but it was worse than they were expecting. a lot of people around them are still without power. They are in the process of cleaning up so they can prepare for the next one. I will keep you posted.

Lastly, here are a few fun videos of Sam laughing. She loves when you play with her belly. She starts to anticipate it, and she is really starting to Love Herculez. Although, I am not sure he feels the same way:)
