Special Visitors

We had some special visitors in from New Orleans this week. David(the best man in our wedding) and Melanie Powers and their kids, Lindsey, Steven and Kaitlyn, came to town to see the Jonas Brother's in concert. Todd and I watched Kaitlyn(2) while the rest of the family went to the concert. It took a little while for her to warm up to us, but we finally won her over. It took a lot of reading, going to the park and playing Wii. If we had known the Wii would have brought her out of her shell, we might have tried that first. In the end, she had a new friend in Todd.

Sam is finally learning to grab her toys and hold onto them. She is also really starting to like her pacifier. She hasn't been a big fan, but this week, she seems to be wanting it. She is also testing us out a little. She had gotten really good at going down for naps with minimal crying or no crying at all. This week she has started crying at night - which she never did - and crying when going down for naps. She gets herself so worked up that she can't go to sleep. We let her cry for 30 min the other day and she still wasn't asleep. When we went to pat her bottom - that did not work, so we picked her up and in 5 min she was asleep. The last few days have been very draining on us. Hopefully, she will grow out of this phase quickly!! She sleeps just fine in her carseat. In fact she goes to sleep without crying at all. Who knows what it is about her bed that has her all messed up!
