Our first non-scheduled Doctor Visit

Sam had her 2 month check up last week and got a couple of her shots that day. She ran a very low grade fever with it and tylenol seemed to do the trick. By Saturday she was still running the fever and it had gotten up to 100.7. I called the Dr - knowing there wasn't a whole lot they could do - because they said to call when she ran something 100.4 or higher. They said I could come in or just watch her over the weekend. It was really strange because it would come and go. By Sat night, it was gone. i checked her Sun morning and nothing. We went to church but by the evening she was back in the near 100 range - when she shot the thermometer out of her hind end!! So Monday, I called Melanie(nurse) and Michelle(nurse practitioner). No I am not neurotic, I just couldn't get a hold of one, so called the other and then Michelle called me back. Anyway, they both said the same thing They wouldn't worry too much so long as it did not get real high. Melanie recommended calling the Dr if it hadn't gone away by the weekend. You would never know she had a fever because she is always smiling. I have been checking it and it just continues to come and go. Today it got up to 101.1, so i decided to call. They had me come in just to check her out. Everything looked good, not ear or throat problems. He decided to check out her mouth, and low and behold he felt the beginnings of a little tooth. He said that could be the culprit or she could just have a small viral cold. No way to tell for sure, but a TOOTH. I am not ready for that yet. She is too young, but her said he has several patients that have gotten them as early as 3 months. Suzanne said her brother got his first tooth at 1 month. Anyway, we are supposed to watch her and if it goes way up, tylenol doesn't bring it down, or it is not gone by Monday, then we will go back. Hopefully, it is nothing.

On another note. I got the cutest present in the mail today for Sam. My friend Katherine sent her a book. It is not just any book. It is they best present idea i have seen in a long time. IT is a book called "my Very Own Name". The book is personalized, and tells a story about the animals collecting letters to make her name. It is so cute. I tried to take a couple of pic's of it, but you will have to come see it for yourself.
The front page with the book dedication.
Thank you guys. I know she can't wait to read it. She loves it when I read to her now. I think she is starting to recognize a few of the books I read to her. She gets really excited when i pull certain ones out. She loves the very hungry caterpillar. I pull it out and show her the cover, she starts kicking her feet, smiling and making all kinds of noises.
