2 Month update

So we are a week off on this one, but I thought I would wait until she had her appointment, so we had all the right information. It was supposed to have been last week, but we had to reschedule it. We went in this morning and she was such a good girl. She officially weighs 10lbs 12oz and is 22 1/2 in long. She pretty much fell dead on in the 50 %tile. The Doctor said she looks very healthy and was happy with her progress. She will be going in Thursday for her hip sono. Since she was born breech, they do it as a precaution. She was not showing any signs of concern at her appointment, but they will do it anyway. Just pray that all goes well. That will take place Thursday morning at 10. We get to check out the new Children's hospital in Plano. She got a couple of shots today and did very well. She cried a little but then fell right to sleep. What a trooper. At 2 months she is alert as ever. She is staying a wake for longer periods of time, and really enjoying her play time. Last week we tried the Baby Einstein video for the 1st time. She loved it. It was baby Mozart. She did not quite make it through the whole thing, but now can sit through the whole thing, happy and amused. She stares at it, smiles and coos. it is quite cute. We also got one of the Praise Baby videos. It is like the Baby Einstein, but instead of classical music it is praise music. It is pretty neat. They last about 20 min and it gives me time to take a shower or get some cooking done. Although I catch myself watching her watch it. Her head and neck are getting very strong as she looks around at any sound she hears. She still loves to go for walks. Just about every night after we feed her, we take a walk around the neighborhood. She is so calm and peaceful as she shecks out her surroudings. Her other favorite is still bathtime. She can be screaming her head off and you put her in the bath and she just relaxes, smailes and kicks her legs around splashing the water. She also is learning how to sit up in her Bebe Pod. She does a pretty good job, but doesn't like being in there for too long just yet.

This last weekend we went to East Texas - Huxley Bay - for the annual Fittz Family reunion. Sam got to meet some of her cousins and her Great Great Aunt and Uncles. We went down Friday night and stayed at the Robinson Lodge on Toledo Bend. It was very pretty. As usual, she did not sleep well away from home. It always seems that her first night away from home is a bear. After that she seems to be fine with it. Just makes it a little rough on mom and dad. She did really well on the 5 hour car ride, so that was a big blessing.
Today we are awaiting the arrival of her new friend - Carter Leeanne Hollman. Her mommy is going in tonight to start the induction process. Sometime in the next 24 hours she will have a new playmate.
