It really started on Thursday. Melanie and anthony and Sarah came over to play. Anthony and Sam are just about 1 month apart in age. It was fun to see what we have coming next.
Friday evening started with a "girls night out" with the gals in our community group. Marlo made reservations on the patio at Red's for us. It was a great time of fellowship and relaxation. It was nice to just be girlfriends for an evening. Apparently, Sam was a bit of a bear for her Daddy, but he was so good. He did not call me and let me enjoy my time away.
Saturday we headed over to Vickie and Dean's to hang out and relax. Unfortunately, Todd got a headache, but he still got in a little rest and relaxation out by the pool. This was his first time swimming with Sam. She wore her new bikini that Steph gave her. Isn't she too cute!!
I spent the rest of the evening trying to get ready for Suzanne's shower on Sunday. We were welcoming baby Carter into their family. We had a cowgirl theme to go along with her nursery theme. My job was to decorate the diaper cake and make peach cobbler. I tried a new recipe. I thought it turned out pretty good. Todd thought it was ok. He said he did not like the nuts in it, but that is what I liked about it. To each his own. We had a good turn out for the shower, and Carter got some really fun items.
Sam spent her first Sunday in the nursery this weekend as well. It helped that Randall and Sarah were there. At least we knew she was in good hands. She survived the first service with no problem, or if there was one, they did not tell us. We took her into class for a little bit, then I fed her and put her back. She seemed completely content in the fun pink bouncy seat when we went back to pick her up. She made a huge present for Todd to clean before we left. While he was changing her diaper, she started laughing at him. That was a first for him. That night when I was putting her to bed, she had fallen asleep on my shoulder. She started laughing, and when I looked she was still asleep. I thought it was so cute. Whatever she was dreaming about was obviously very funny to her.
My Aunt and uncle came to visit today. Sam got to meet them for the first time. They have been trying to come for a while, but my aunt has had a few health problems. It was nice to see them and catch up.
Things with BU are moving right along. Todd said you can tell we have moved onto the next phase - we are starting to get bills:) There is so much to do at this point. We need to get our SBA loan closed. That is priority #1. BU is already having us make decisions about pricing and hours of operation. We have no idea. We will be getting our official emails soon as well. They will work on setting up our website as opening soon. It really makes it all seem more real. We will be going in August to Phoenix for our corporate training. The long range plan right now has us opening around the first weekend in Oct. So much to get accomplished between now and then.
