Boy what a roller coaster of events that last few weeks have been, but life goes on! Todd and I have decided that starting this year, we are having a weekly date night - be it an at home date, Bible study night or movie night, Wednesdays are going to be OUR night. Kind of sad that we have to schedule it that way, but we are just too busy otherwise. Our first attempt at getting our priorities back on track. However, our first two attempts went up in flames. We had family in town last week, and the week before we had to meet with the other BU owners to get our commercial nailed down. - PS - if you are a Verizon Fios subscriber in the Dallas area, pay attention over the next 3 weeks for our commercial. We will be on Nick, Cartoon, ABC Family, Animal Planet and TLC. And say a pray that this really brings in some new business!!
I am very excited that we are getting a real date night tomorrow. Our first of the new year. We watched Chesed Monday night for Sean and Jenni, so they are going to watch Sam tomorrow for us. We are going to see Sherlock Holmes, and I am very excited. You know how much I just love movies!! We also have supper club this week, and I am looking forward to seeing some good friends. I feel kind of disconnected since we missed out on all the New Year parties.
Now for the real reason for my post... Samantha updates! She is such a cutie. Growing so big. I just can believe it. Christmas was a lot of fun with her this year. She wasn't real big on Santa himself, but she really got into the opening of presents. Her facial expressions are so funny. She still gives her dirty looks, so don't get offended if you get one. She gives them to everyone!!
She loves to twirl!! she can spend a solid 30 min or more just spinning in circles. She never seems to get dizzy. "Aunt" Tracie got a really funny video of her spinning. I will have to get it from her to post.
She has also discovered that she can slide in the tub. She takes the rubber mat out now and slides back and forth while saying - WEEEE
She is still in love with Herculez and he still is not so sure what he thinks about her. He is so good with her, and we are lucky!
Her vocabulary is really increasing. She still talks non stop - go figure - but now we are really starting to understand more. She is also very good with the sign language now. She is just coming around with I love you and it is so sweet, and she loves to give big kisses now. We just melt.
She definitely knows what she wants, and is not afraid to let you know too. She is getting into clothes and shoes. When she really likes something she doesn't want to take it off. She loves wearing her "new" shoes, and refuses to take them off. Where do they learn these things? She loves BounceU and playing with all the kids. She just thinks she is one of the big kids. She can definitely hold her own without any problem.
Todd's parents came to visit last week. It was great to see them and for sam to spend some good quality time with them. While they were here we were able to get the upstairs playroom painted. I love it! Now I just need to finish with the decorations.
She is sleeping so well in her big girl bed. I am so amazed. However, she is definitely a social butterfly. The entire time Todd's parents were here, she refused to take a nap. The Friday that they left, she took a 4 1/2 hour nap, and only woke up because we forced her to get up. On Sat, she slept another 4 hours. I guess she was playing catch up:) Next month we are moving onto potty training - ahhh!
So far this year we have been to 2 birthday parties, and they were both so fun. Jenni and Jill are so cute and creative. Chesed's candy land party was so much fun, and Sam had a blast playing and bouncing at Taylor's party. mom and dad had fun, because we finally felt a little normal:) We have 2 more parties to go this month - I did not realize that Jan was such a busy birthday month.
We will be going on our anual Rodeo trip in just a few weeks. I am very excited to see it this year through Sam's eyes. It is so fun to revisit your childhood memories through the eyes of your kids.
Here are a few fun pics from that last few weeks.
