Merry Christmas 2009

While we lost a little of our Christmas spirit this season, we still had a wonderful time. Jesus is the reason for the season, and being with family is most important now! We were not sure how things were going to turn out. We had a massive storm come through on Christmas Eve, and were not sure we would make it over to Fort Worth for Chirstmas Day. That would have really been a major BUMMER! Backing up to Wednesday night - Sam slept in her big girl bed for the first time, and did a great job. She really seems to like being in it. She was just getting too dangerous with the crib. Next step - Potty training in another month - AHHHHH! Now back to Christmas. We went to Christmas Eve service at The Heights - just down the street. We did not want to take the chance of getting stuck out in Frisco. It was a nice service and a little emotional for us. We came home and put Sam to bed, then watched 4 Christmas'. It was pretty cute, and we needed a little laugh. After that we got a few items ready for Sam. Mom and dad helped us buy her an art table for her play room. She doesn't have them yet, but Todd's parents got her quite a few items to go along with the table - colors, finger paints etc... We had a few other items - puzzles, colors and some Big girl panties:) I wrapped most things because she was really enjoying opening presents this year. Still doesn't get the Santa thing just yet. She really loves to dance these days. SHe puts her hands in the air, and learned on the Disney Christmas Parade how to "Shake her tail feathers" like donald duck:). After we got her up, we got ready and headed over to FTW to spend the day with my family. We got a little bit later start than we wanted, but most of the ice was melted. We made it over safely. We spent the day with my family eating, chatting, and playing games. Sam really LOVES playing with her cousins!! We decided to spend the night becuase we had big plans for Saturday! It was time for my Birthday/Christmas present. We had been planning on buying a car before the end of the year for a quite some time. We had been weighing our options and trying to decide what would work best for us. When there was the possibility of twins, we were entertaining the thought of a mini van - Thank you Jesus we did not have to go there:) We had it narrowed down to the Ford Flex and the Hyundai Veracruz. In the end, we were able to get a much better deal on the Veracruz, so that is what we went with. my sisters old neighbor had really helped us out in with our car investigation, so we wanted to make sure we bought over there. Now we just need to sell Todd's Volkswagon Jetta - if you know anyone interested. It is still in great shape! I enjoyed my ride home, and checking out all the fun features of my new ride!! Here are a few pics from our Christmas 2009! I have some video, but I will add that later.
