Today was supposed to be a happy day around our house. We were going to the perinatalogist to find out if we were having just one or two babies. While we got off to a rough start, and thought we had lost the baby around 6 weeks, everything seemed to be heading in a great directions. We went in at 7 weeks and had a heartbeat! We should have been about 12 weeks when we went in today for our sono. It never crossed our minds that the choice would be none. There is no explanation. In fact the doctor said the baby looked very healthy, but unfortunately, stopped growing around 11 weeks. We never understand God's plan, but we have to continue to trust that it is PERFECT! "His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not ours." Needless to say we are shocked and stunned, but know that we will somehow manage to get through it all. Thank you so much for all your sweet notes, and words of encouragement. We really appreciate them.
On another note, we haven't been very good about keeping up, so here are a few Sam updates.
She is almost 21 months old, and full of spunk and spirit. We are officially moving her from her baby bed to a big girl bed as she is now crawling out of the bed. She does it so effortlessly! I watched her this afternoon on the monitor - quite entertaining! I am very glad that we did not waste our time or money on the mall Santa this year. We had an amazing Santa at the store, and she wanted NOTHING to do with him. I forgot my camera, but used the disposable one at the store. Now I have to find the time to go get them developed. He came to the park in my neighborhood after the store, so i got a couple of pics, but as you can see she was having no part of it. She is a getting to be so much fun! She has a new fondness for Ebee. She likes to eat with him and try to feed him. (we have also moved her up to the table like a big girl)
We decorated our first gingerbread house. She did such a great job. Very meticulous! I added the frosting and she put the gumdrops on one at a time. I was very impressed. I was expecting a huge mess. She is starting to put together a lot more words to make real sentences. We have still have trouble figuring some of them out, but it is starting to get easier. Boy where does the time go? I think this Christmas is going to be fun for her. She has really gotten into the opening of presents thing. It is cute to watch her going through the process. One of her new favorite things to do is to pick the crumbs off the baking stone. One would think we never feed her:) She got a new riding toy as well. Cousin Matthew passed off his little battery operated ATV off to her. Now she wants to ride everything, including the doll size tricycle. She tries to sit on it and says - Ride, Ride?
here are a few pics to catch us up:
