Todd surprised me with a trip this year for my birthday. After a lot of thought and planning, we dropped Sam off in Houston at her Aunt Tanya's. She had a ball playing with Matthew and spending time with Todd's family. Todd and I ventured on to Kemah. He rented a little cottage at the Clipper House Inn & Vineyard. It was really sweet. I wish we could have enjoyed the vineyard a little more, but that will have to wait for another time. He made those plans before we new about the new addition. Regardless, we had a nice time. The Inn was within walking distance of the Boardwalk, and we spent one day hanging out in Galveston. We spent Thanksgiving day just the two of us and went to Cracker Barrel - not sure why we don't do this more often. For $9 a person you get a full, and I might add, quite delicious meal. We also went to see Old Dogs - very cute. We were both blown away by some of the things that were actually OPEN on Thanksgiving day. What happened to the holiday? After dinner we went back to our place and watched the Aggies play an awesome game!!
We spent Friday and Saturday back in Houston with Todd's family. Friday was the official Thanksgiving feast. Tanya did a great job on all the fixin's. Saturday morning we met up with my old college roomie and friend Cathy :). We had a yummy breakfast at Mimi's with her and her beautiful family.
We drove back to Dallas Saturday evening and spent most of today recovering and getting ready for the week ahead. It is gonna be a busy week, and a crazy weekend. Welcome back to the real world! Our major task left before the end of the year is deciding what car to buy. We will be upsizing, but we are not sure to what just yet. Here are just a few pics. I really didn't get to camera happy this trip.
