What a crazy week! What was most important is that we had an awesome time. Susan was such a great hostess for us in New York. We got in late on Tuesday night or maybe it was Wednesday morning. (I can't remember) We had all these wonderful plans for Wednesday, but the freak rainstorm and accompaning floods changed all that. We still got a lot accomplished even though the subways were shut down for most of the day. We did more touristy things that we hadn't planned because we couldn't get to many other places. Our plan was to do things we hadn't done, since we've both been to NYC before. We went to see Legally Blonde on Broadway. It was quite entertaining. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to see a fun show. After that, the subways were back up and running so we went down to the WTC museum. That was an incredible experience. If you haven't had the chance to visit there, you should. It is very moving and still gives you goose bumps 6 years later. While down there we went and did a few touristy things: Wall Street and the stock market bull, Battery Park and the Statue of Liberty. Then we met Susan for dinner in China Town. What a yummy place!! For dessert we tried to go to milk and cookies but they had closed early that day. We ended up at her favorite cupcake bakery - The Magnolia Bakery. Thursday Todd was very excited because I bought him tickets for a METS game. That was a fun experience and fortunately it was a much cooler day. That evening we went over to Brooklyn and had some of the best pizza I have ever had. (Although my favorite is still Hernando's in Winter Park) She took us to Grimaldi's. After eating all that pizza we needed a little exercise and decided to walk back across the Brooklyn Bridge. As you can see, we did Todd's favorite thing and took lots of pictures:) Since we had been so good and walked, we decided to treat ourselves to dessert at Milk and Cookies. I think the mint chocolate chip cookie was my favorite. I think only in New York a place that just sells milk and cookies could survive. Friday we got up early and took the bus to Philadelphia. That was an interesting experience, but a story for the next entry:). Once again because of the rain, the one subway line that we needed was shut down. We had to take the city bus. That was all good and well, but we almost missed our Bus to Philly. Thanks to Susan again for letting us stay with you. We had a blast. We will save the Philly part of our trip for another day!
