We spent a ton of time this last week traveling and visiting Todd's family. We had a great time and the girls had a blast spending time with family.
Sunday - we left after church and headed to New Orleans. We got in late that night and spent a little time with grammy and papi. Ali warmed up very quickly to them. I think it went both ways!
Monday evening we headed to Ponchatula(sp) to hang out with the Turgeau's. Todd has been friends with them for a very long time and they are a TON of fun to be with. The girls enjoyed swimming, making snowcones (Sam got her first bee sting - and was quite the trooper)4 wheelers, go carts and golf carts. Todd managed to get the 4 wheeler stuck in the mud (really stuck) and to far away for the wench to reach:) Jerry and I had to go on a search of 30 feet of rope. Fortunately, we found one of their neighbors at home and he was able to help them out. Of course by that time, it was pitch black and the skeeters were on a rampage. We all (at least jerry and I had a good laugh - not sure the boys thought it was too funny:))
Tuesday, we headed out to Navarre, FL to visit Aunt Tiffany. The girls had a blast with Aunt Tiff and playing on the beach. We were so excited to finally get to see Tiffany's home and it has been over a year since we saw her last. I will do my best to get some pictures posted.
Wednesday, we went out to Navarre beach to play. It was a lot windy because of the tropical depression making its way into the gulf. Todd and I both decided that we prefer laying in chairs on the beach and not actually in the sand. We are still finding sand:) After a full morning on the beach we headed back to NO.
Thursday, we all headed to Houston to visit Aunt Tanya, Uncle David and Matthew, for his 6th birthday.
The girls had so much fun playing with all of Matthews cool toys. Why is it that girls always love to play with boy toys? Friday, we were able to go swimming at their neighborhood pool. They had a great little kiddie pool area and they had a blast. We also learned that they like grammy's lasagna!!
Saturday, we met my old roommate, katherine and her family for breakfast at Chick-fil-a. I love when we make it to Pearland, because it is great to be able to catch up with my sweet friend and her beautiful family! From there we headed to Matthew's awesome party. They did it at the Cinemark. It was the girls first movie, and they did a great job. We saw Despicable Me, and it was definitely funny. They had 2 rows reserved for the party and then a little party room for afterwards. Definitely something to keep in mind for the future.
After the party we headed home. We were all super beat, but enjoyed our time as a family. It really gave us an opportunity to bond and for Todd's family to meet Ali.
