We got home from church on Sunday morning, to learn that bio mom and dad were ready to meet us. So much for our lazy Sunday! We headed over to Arlington to meet with them. When we left, it was pretty clear that mom wanted to get Ali back. Then they were feeling better about us taking her. This afternoon, bio mom and dad decided that they were going to try to get Ali back and wanted to raise her themselves.
The other family that was planning to adopt Ali, has stepped in and basically let them know that they will not allow her to go back with them.
Through this entire experience we know and trust that God is in control. While we hoped the process would have been easier, nothing worthwhile is ever easy:) Our main concern at this point is Ali. She is definitely getting attached to our family, and Sam is absolutely in love with her. Having a big sister has been such a good thing for her. Adjusting to having 2 kids is certainly a challenge, but we are loving it. Todd is an amazing father! and both of the girls absolutely adore him! Something we learned today is that Ali has never bonded with men. According to the family she has been with, she has always been afraid of them. That is definitely not the case with Todd. She loves and adores him just as much as Sam does! She can't wait for him to get home each day. We just keep trusting that God's will is done for all of us.
As of this evening, dad has changed his mind yet again and said that he is willing to sign away is rights to us. The other family has spent a lot of time talking with them today, and of course there has been a lot of prayer.
Prayer is such an awesome thing! As we move forward we will continue to pray that God will watch over Ali, and what is in her best interest. Ultimately, that is what we want, and know that it will happen.
We trust that you will all get to meet her soon. Thanks for all the prayers.
