Fathers Day 2009 and Todd's 40th B-day

So I am obviously a little behind. We had a very fun Father's day over in Ft. Worth at the lake again this year. It was a crazy busy weekend as we went to Houston on Friday. We met with the BU owners down there and the spent an evening with Todd's sister and family. Sam enjoyed playtime with her cousin Matthew. He brought her some toys while she was bathing, and she pooped in the tub again!!! not a fun thing to clean. Saturday, we went to my cousin Michael's wedding. It was a very sweet ceremony, and sam did great for her first wedding.
I found a song that I just love. It is the sweetest daddy saong ever, so in order to play it all, I had to add a few pics from last year, but here are a few pics from Father's day and the wedding.

Now for the good stuff. This was the big 40 for Toddy!! We had a fun party. Thanks to everyone that helped us celebrate. He truly appreciated you all coming - especially his mom, dad and sister Tiffany. Vickie and Dean loaned us their wonderful backyard and we had a Luau - pulled pork, yummy potatoes(instead of poi)Mai Thai's and peach Bellini's - YUM!!! The evening ended with the fireworks at South Fork Ranch - yes i planned that - JK! Here are the pics for those of you that missed out.
Thursday was Todd's actual day. Sam and I made sure that daddy did not feel unloved:) We filled his car with balloons and wrote a few choice words on his vehicle! We had planned to have lunch with him, but his boss took him out instead. We spent the afternoon, making his favorite - Red Velvet cake - and a nice steak dinner. We also sent him an "old Buzzard" cookie bouquet to work. He got his wich of a stand alone, gas powered edger. Yes the old fashioned kind, but certainly not the cheap kind!! - Hey you only turn 40 once:))

Lastly here are a few pics from Grammy and papi's week long visit. They came in town on Father's day. Grammy stayed with Sam so I could get a few things done for the store, that I haven't been able to do with Sam. Unfortunately, we did not get any picks of grammy and Sam. I think she took most of them. The sotry of a mom/gramdmothers life - Always taking pictures never in them:))Papi helped Todd finish a lot of projects that he just hasn't had time to do, plus take care of a few things at the store that our contractor did not finish, or refused to correct - yes he is such a man of integrity - NOT!!! ANyway, that is a another story. Needless to say, we were happy for thier visit. It was a big help.

The week did take a turn on Thursday, as my great uncle passed away on Monday. My sweet friend Vickie got up at the but crack of dawn and drove 4 hours with me to Center Texas, for the funeral. You know you have a true friend when they will leave at 5 in the morning to go with you!!. It was a very nice ttribute to his life. Sam went with us and was way too cute. Her first funeral and I thought she did extremely well. She was quiet the whole time. When they played Sandi patti's version of amazing grace she started dancing!! You just have to love the innocents of childhood.
